List Stubenrauch, Executive Director
Issaquah Nursing & Rehabilitation Center
805 Front Street South
Issaquah, WA  98027

Dear Lisa,
My apologies for the lateness for this letter regarding the quality care and service my Mother,   Rose Larson, received during her three stays at Issaquah Nursing and Rehab Center.

Following my first call to you regarding the need for a skilled facility for my Mother, you and your team responded with a caring, compassionate and informative manner, which continued  thru her stays.  The daily care and services of all your staff was exceptional in every department, whether she was in therapy, with nursing personnel or the housekeeper.  Staff seems to understand that the details are important; a perfect example: prior to vacuuming the  hallway, the staff asked if it was okay to close the patient room door, keeping the room quiet.   It may seem minor, but for a patient recovering from a major surgery it shows once again all Staff is thinking about the comfort and care of the patient.

The follow up after each discharge was perfect, the calls, letters, personal visits by you and your staff.  These visits occurred at both the hospital and her assisted living apartment.

Lisa, our family was more than pleased with Mother’s care; you have a high functioning QUALITY TEAM!  You as the leader have clearly made a difference in not only my  Mother’s stay, but the many others you care for at Issaquah Nursing & Rehab Center.

The positive experience and the outcomes of the quality care/services received at your facility have been shared by me and our family with all the professional staff, both at Overlake Medical Center and physician visits, over the past year.  Okay, we share it with everyone!  When asked why we chose Issaquah Nursing & Rehab instead of the newer facility in town the second and third time, it was very easy to respond:  Quality leadership, quality staff offering quality and caring services each and every day!   Also, I believe the therapy was more aggressive with faster outcomes & recovery for Mother.

Again, thank you Lisa and your staff for being a FIVE STAR quality facility!

P.S.
As a retired Executive Director with 30 years’ experience in skilled nursing facilities I must state clearly your work and dedication is an example for others to follow!  Great job Lisa! Please forward this to your regions/corporate office.

Sincerely,

Linda M. Larson & Family

Lisa Stubenrauch, Administrator
Issaquah Nursing and Rehabilitation Center
805 Front Street S.
Issaquah, WA  98027

"Dear Ms. Stubenrauch,

Kudos go out to you and your commitment to customer service and patient care, confirmed by INRC’s Medicare 5 STAR status.  You have put together an excellent and cohesive nursing and rehab team that work together to help residents attain their highest function, regardless of underlying illness or injury.

It seems unusual to me, but admirable, that you, as administrator are familiar with every one of your resident’s changing medical conditions, progress in rehabilitation and other complex personal situations.  This attention to detail is not lost on the residents or their families, either.  I have commonly heard comments and read notes from them praising the cheerful, attentive and personalized care received from you and your staff.

I applaud your oversight and mentoring of your management team during the weekly Medicare meetings, when individualized patient care is discussed by administrative, medical, nursing, rehab and social services personnel.  Your Quality Management program is also active and ongoing.  It is refreshing to see how problems are identified, solutions found and issues actually resolved.

On behalf of my patients and myself, I thank you for your dedication to improving their quality of care as well as their quality of life.

Sincerely yours,"

Denis J. Hom, M.D.

August 22, 2010
"I am writing this letter to express my family’s deep appreciation for the extraordinary care that has been afforded our mother during her rehabilitation following a recent hip replacement surgery.

We checked her into your facility three days after her hip replacement, unable to stand, walk or perform basic functions in caring for herself. Six weeks later I am watching her walk one hundred years without stopping, climb the steps in the PT gym three times in succession without hesitation and perhaps most importantly is her absolute certainly that she is capable of caring for herself when she returns home.

Additionally the daily rehab, medical and hygienic care that Mom has received would rival anything I have witnessed in any hospital or medical facility. When mom was completely dependent and vulnerable in the beginning, she rarely waited more than a few minutes when she pushed her assistance button. What I have witnessed at the Issaquah Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is love in its finest form, the desire and ability to care for vulnerable human beings who are incapable of caring for themselves, to allay their fears and those of their families, and to accomplish this with humor and grace. What you have assembled here is truly amazing group of professional caregivers. I commend you."
William S.
